This act made him the first player born in the 2000's to play for Chelsea senior team and also the youngest player yo play for Chelsea in well over 10 years.

English born Ampadu made a quite skeptical choice to play for his mother's national side, Wales even though he was eligible to play for England who has in both recent and times past boast of world class defenders and midfielders.

In Ethan's debut for his academy youth team, Exter city, he set a record as the club's youngest ever player, played the full 90 minutes of normal time and was also awarded the man of the match.
