Manchester city breaks record.
Manchester City will make the best start to a top-flight season in England if they win at Swansea on Wednesday.
Tottenham hold the current record for the best start to a top-tier league campaign since the Football League was founded in 1888 after starting their 1960/61 campaign with 15 wins and one draw before suffering defeat.
Spurs started that season with 11 successive wins before a 1-1 draw against City at White Hart Lane, winning their following four games before losing 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday in November, 1960.
Pep Guardiola's side are undefeated in the Premier League, equalling Tottenham's current record of 15 wins and one draw with a 2-1 win against Manchester United - having only dropped points during a 1-1 draw against Everton in August.
Victory at Swansea would make it two top-flight records in as many weeks after winning an unprecedented 14 consecutive Premier League games in a single season, at Old Trafford on Sunday.
