Mbappé began his career at AS Bondy,where his father Wilfried was a coach. A stint at the the famous Claire Fontaine academy followed, before a host of impressive performances had numerous French clubs, as well as Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Valencia CF, attempting to sign him. Mbappé ultimately settled on AS Monaco.
The young star made his first debut on the 2nd of December 2015 at Monaco, in a 1-1 Ligue 1 draw against SM Caen, becoming Monaco's youngest ever first team player aged 16 years,347 days, breaking Thierry Henry's record set 21 years ago.
On 20th February 2016, Mbappé scored his first goal for the club's first team, a stoppage time goal in a home Ligue 1 3-1 win over Troyes. At the age of 17 years and 62 days,he became the youngest first team goalscorer in Monaco's history, once again displacing Henry in the process. On the 5th of March 2016, Mbappé signed his first professional contract, a three year deal, tying him to Monaco until June, 2019.
He scored his first hat trick of his first team career on December 14th, 2016 in a 7-0 match against Stade Rennais F.C in the coupe de LA ligue round of 16 at the stade Louis competition, the first hat-trick scored by any Monaco player in the competition since sonny Anderson in 1997.
On the 11th of February 2017, Mbappé scored the first Ligue 1 hat trick of his career against FC Metz,at 18 years and two months. He became the youngest player to score a Ligue 1 hat trick since 17 years old Jeremy Ménez did it for FC Sochaux-Montbeliard back in 2005.
On the 21st of February, Mbappé became the youngest second French scorer in UEFA Champions League history behind Karim Benzema. On the day, he scored 2 first half goals in a home win over FC Nantes to bring his Ligue 1 career tally to 10 goals and become the youngest player in the last 30 years to hit the Ligue 1 10 career goals marks. His brace against Nantes on the 5th March, 2017 brought his 2016-2017 season tally to 9 Ligue 1 goals and five Ligue 1 assists in just 822 minutes of Ligue 1 football, approximately 9 matches.
On the 15th of March, he scored his 11th goal in 11 matches in all competitions against Manchester city.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER.
Mbappé started his international career by scoring five times for France as they won the 2016 UEFA EUROPEAN UNDER 19 CHAMPIONSHIP, securing their spot in the final with a sparkling performance in their 3-1 victory against Portugal in the semi-finals.
Mbappé was called up to the senior France squad for the first time to face Luxembourg and Spain in March 2017.
He made his debut on 25th March, 2017 against the former, coming on for Dimitri Payet in the 78th minute of a 3-1 2018 FIFA world cup qualification away win. In doing so,he became the second youngest player (only behind Maryan Wisnieski) to ever feature for the French national team at 18 years, 3 months and 5 days old.
PERSONAL LIFE.
Mbappé's father, Wilfred, hails from Cameroon and he is his agent. His adoptive brother Jires Kembo Ekoko is also a professional football player, and his Algerian mother Fayza is a former handball player. He also has a younger brother named Adeyemi Mbappé.
